The Royalties for Resource Producing Communities Fund is open to local governments of resource communities.

Eligible local governments are those which, within their boundaries:

  • are experiencing significant direct impacts from resource sector activity
  • have well-established and/or significant mining activities
  • have smaller, but nevertheless, active mining activities
  • have significant exploration activity being undertaken.

Chinchilla's outdated potable water treatment plant is being replaced with one using the latest technology to deliver better quality water—including treated CSG water in an Australian first—to support current and future populations and facilitate further growth.
Doomadgee to Burketown Optical Fibre Link Project
Burketown's overburdened radio network will soon be a thing of the past with the installation of nearly 100km of fibre optic cable to deliver high-speed broadband internet, 4G mobile phone services and Wi-Fi hotspots, boosting business, health, education and tourism opportunities.

Gregory Water Treatment Plant Solar Power Project
The Gregory Water Treatment Plant will get a solar power system to replace the existing diesel generators, improving the plant's efficiency and reducing its environmental footprint.
Mount Isa Civic Centre and Library Upgrade
Upgrades to the Mount Isa civic centre and library will allow these vital community facilities to continue to provide a library for local residents and visitors and a civic centre for major events ensuring the 40-year-old complex continues to accommodate the Mount Isa events and tourism venues group.

Revitalisation of the Collinsville Showground Upgrade
Collinsville Showgrounds will be upgraded, boosting tourism and flow-on spending in the town by creating an RV friendly park area.
Runway and Ancillary Lighting Replacement – Charters Towers Airport
New runway lighting will ensure that Charters Towers airport remains operational 24 hours a day, supporting outlying cattle stations, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, defence, emergency re-supply and children going to boarding school.
Roma Airport Runway Upgrade
Roma airport's upgraded runway will cater for more than 40 flight a week, meeting current and future air traffic needs, as well as supporting emergency services for remote locations in the Maranoa region.

Nebo Water Supply Project
The construction of a new 2ML reservoir and water treatment plant will ensure Nebo’s 800+ residents will no longer have to endure supply shortages and poor-quality bore water with a high mineral content.
Roma Saleyard Multi-Purpose Facility
Upgrading the Roma Saleyards with a multi-purpose precinct will enhance capability and provide additional amenities for regular users and the increasing number of tourists.
Roma Sewer Main Upgrade
Upgrade of a number sewer mains will improve services and reduce risks for at least one- third of Roma.
Roma Water Main Augmentation
Installation of two new water mains and upgrades to the capacity of others will improve Roma's flow rates, pressure and fire-fighting capacity.
Thangool Aerodrome Safety and Security Upgrade
Safety and security will be improved at the Thangool Aerodrome with an upgrade to facilities.
Yamala Rail Siding Project
Construction of a 1.5km dead end rail siding, signals and telecoms, and associated road works at Yamala.
