The Queensland Government released the draft master plan for the priority Port of Gladstone for public consultation from 28 August 2017 to 9 October 2017.

Public consultation on the draft master plan is now closed. The draft master plan and supporting master planning documentation are available below for reference purposes only.

Submissions are currently being considered with a view to preparing a final master plan and master planned area. A report on consultation with matters raised in submissions will also be prepared and released.

Draft master plan

The draft master plan was released for public consultation under the Ports Act from 28 August 2017 to 9 October 2017.

Supporting documentation

Supporting master planning documentation facilitated the preparation of the draft master plan for the priority Port of Gladstone and was made available during the public consultation stage.

Preliminary draft port overlay

The port overlay is the regulatory instrument that will implement the master plan over the master planned area. A preliminary draft port overlay has been prepared to inform how the draft master plan is intended to be implemented for the proposed master planned area. A draft port overlay will be issued for public comment following the release of the final master plan.

Evidence base reports

The evidence base reports represent a point-in-time analysis of factors important for master planning at the priority Port of Gladstone. It provides the foundation for preparation of the draft master plan.

Master planning evidence base assessment

This report provides an overview of the port and the proposed master planned area including the history and current function; regulatory and policy context; existing land uses and activities within the proposed master planned area; environmental values; social and cultural heritage value; economic factors.

Infrastructure and supply chain analysis

This report identifies the existing and potential infrastructure and supply chain requirements for the proposed master planned area up to the year 2050.

Risk assessment

This report informs the environmental management framework in the draft master plan.

Addendum to evidence base

This is supplementary information to support the evidence base reports on the risk assessment and the infrastructure and supply chain assessment.
