The Integrated Resort Development (IRD) at the Gold Coast, subject to the proponent satisfying the procurement process, will be developed on a five hectare site (PDF icon 2.7 MB) between Sea World and the Gold Coast Fishermen's Co-operative.

The Government and ASF Consortium Pty Ltd have agreed to continue the existing Integrated Resort Development process on this land parcel.

A cruise ship terminal no longer forms part of the proposal.

ASF Consortium continue to progress their proposal with the Government and a detailed proposal is expected in 2017.

Community consultation commences
Advertising includes media releases, newspaper articles and radio ads

More than 6500 completed surveys have been submitted for the two consultations.

Additionally there was:

  • a (rescheduled) public information session at Southport State High School
  • a business information evening
  • three community information sessions at the Department of State Development's Gold Coast office
  • 1000 online surveys completed
  • four focus groups undertaken
  • 100 telephone polling
  • more than 50 face-to-face consultations with individual and community group in and around the Gold Coast also media releases, 1800 number for enquiries, radio ads and print advertisements in the Gold Coast Bulletin and Gold Coast Sun.
